To join the Vets you need to be a financial playing member of a Golf Club and be 55 years of age or over. Randwick Vets play Thursdays – tee off time is between 8 and 9 am. Bookings can be made by computer or pro shop. New Vets members must be members of Randwick Golf Club and must apply to either Geoff Cook 9311 4255, Ian Martin 9344 8530 or John Nolan 9399 6485 to be registered.
AS A HISTORY – MALE VETERANS FULL STEAM AHEAD
In July 2008 the then Club Captain applied to the NSW Veteran Golfers Association for affiliation and this was granted. Sorting out the most suitable time to conduct a comp took sometime and Thursdays was decided and now we have some 30/40 plays each Thursday. On our books we have 110 members who have paid their fee and are entitled to play in Vet comps within Australia.
The Vets committee decided to have an annual championship. The first was played over two weeks in November 2011, which was won by John Nolan with Madan Kandara one point behind as runner up. The Vets Captain Ian Martin donated a perpetual trophy.
